Orebić, an old seaside resort in the middle of the Pelješac Channel, showed since the ancient times clear touch with the development of the European civilization.Orebić is the cradle of sea captains and seafarers, the Pearl of the Pelješac Riviera. The Pelješac Peninsula is situated at the very south of Croatia, not far away from Dubrovnik. By its geografical and natural characteristics it is similar to the Dalmatian islands - Hvar and Korčula, and the fact that it is connected to the mainland it offers additional freedom of travelling and better connection with Dubrovnik and the hinterland. The area is 355 square  kilometers large  and 65 kilometers long. This region belongs to the "Adriatic type" of the Mediterannean climate with long, dry and hot summers and short and damp winters. The first internationally protected high quality wine: Geneve 1961. Dingač is produced from the autochthonous sort of "plavac mali" in the region of Dingač, on the steep southern slopes of the Pelješac Peninsula. A lovely ruby-red colour and fruity bouquet revealing aromas of dry fruit. This wine is unique by its harmonious taste. Served at 18'C, it is ideal with red meat and the best quality fish.
